Spag Boot Camp - FAQs

What exactly is Spag Boot Camp and how can it help me?
Spag Boot Camp is designed to aid revision of Year 6 children for their Spag test. It consists of 25 spelling days (20 level 3-5 and 5 level 6), plus 5 Punctuation & Grammar practice papers (level 3-5).

Will my email address be used as my username?
Yes, the email address you register with will be used as your username. However, once you are signed up you can change your username to something other than an email address from your: Administration Area

I have just signed up and haven't yet received my login details - why not?
You should automatically be sent your login details. If you have not received them within 10 minutes, it is likely that they have gone into your "spam" or "junk" folder, particularly if you are using Hotmail. We recommend that you add our email address (sats@compare4kids.co.uk) to your contacts so that future emails are delivered straight into your inbox. Please contact us at sats@compare4kids.co.uk if you would like us to resend your login details.

How long does my subscription last for, and will it automatically renew?
Your subscription will not automatically be renewed - instead, we will email you to notify you when your subscription is about to expire. And if this is not for you, the first six days are free and you can visit them and use them as much as you like.

I don't have a PayPal account and don't want one. Can I pay any other way?
Yes, you can pay via your credit card instead of logging in to, or setting up, a PayPal account. Look for wording such as: "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account." There should be a link to take you to the facility to pay via credit card.
We encourage you to pay via PayPal as this is the quickest way to get set up, but we can also create an invoice for your school if you do not have the facilities to pay by credit or debit card - please email sats@compare4kids.co.uk to arrange this.

Is Spag Boot Camp a replacement for revision?
Absolutely not. Spag Boot Camp is a resource to aid your revision, and is by no means a substitute for revision. We recommend that you work through the activities alongside the revision that you are doing with your teacher, or at home.

Will Spag Boot Camp be free in the future?
It is possible that Spag Boot Camp might become a free resource at some point in the future.

How long does my subscription last for?
Your subscription will last for one year, after which you will be able to renew it (we will email you to let you know when it is close to expiring).

I cannot see the spelling days on my screen
The spelling days require a program called Flash in order to run. Most computers come with Flash already installed - if you cannot see the spelling days it is most likely that Flash is not installed on your computer. You can install it from here Download Flash. If you are using an iPad, please see the FAQ below.

Why does Spag Boot Camp not work on my iPad?
Apple products - such as the iPhone and iPad - do not support flash, which is the platform that many games are built on. However, there are various programs that you can download to help you view flash on your Apple product. If you Google "iPad flash" you will find a selection of programs.

I am a teacher - can all of my pupils access Spag Boot Camp at the same time from different computers in our IT suite?
Yes, once you have subscribed to the members area of Spag Boot Camp, you will be supplied with a password, which can then be used by all of the children in your class, all from individual computers.

Will the children in my class be able to use my class login from home?
Yes, of course. It is a great idea to do some revision from home, especially during the Easter holidays, just before SATs.

I am a Year 6 pupil. My school class hasn't signed up for this, but can I subscribe and use it from home?
Of course. We receive many emails from children (and from parents too!) who love the fact that they can work through our Boot Camps in their own time.

I am a Key stage 2 teacher/student, but am not in Year 6 - can I still use Spag Boot Camp?
Of course. Whilst it has been created with Year 6 in mind, Spag Boot Camp can help other years as well, in particular the Spelling Boot Camp section.

Are there adverts displaying on your Boot Camps?
You will notice adverts on some pages on Compare4Kids, including the Boot Camp pages for non-subscribers (i.e. when you are not logged in). However, if you have subscribed and are logged in to any of our Boot Camps, you will not see any adverts in the members' area.

Is the fee refundable if I am not happy with the product?
Spag Boot Camp is a non-tangible irrevocable product so the refund policy is conditional, which you are responsible for understanding upon purchasing your subscription. We only make exceptions with this rule when the product appears to be not-as-described on a case by case basis in agreement of the parties concerned. The deadline for any refund claim is one week after subscription.

(What this basically means is Spag Boot Camp is an experience and as such cannot be refunded if you are not entirely happy with the content. Please be sure to check out the free activities (Spelling Days 1 & 2, plus Practise Paper 1) before subscribing to make sure it is for you.)

Our company reserves the right to change or modify these terms with no prior notice.
